Reviews
Always been impressed before, but they were out of half their menu items on New Years Eve and wait staff didn’t bother to inform us until after drinks/salads were ordered. Poor form. But they do have excellent steaks, when they have them.
This was our second visit and we were very disappointed. Appetizer was shrimp cocktail which was pretossed with a lot of spicy sauce (not horseradish) - not good. Two filet mignons were undercooked, one sent back, and one filet was a tail piece which I have never seen served in a restaurant this caliber. When paying over $40 an entree a la carte, I expect better quality and cooking ability. Had to ask for drink refills twice. The manager did take off the charge for the shrimp cocktail without us asking which was very nice.
Horrible HORRIBLE Management! I will NEVER EVER go to this restaurant again!!!!
We had dinner at the restaurant and was received in the professional and courteous way by the server called Ymke. She was on top of her game and served us with a smile. She inquired if we need something else during our time although it was quite busy. We received our dinner within good time frames and we enjoyed it in a relaxed atmosphere. Ymke was tentative to our needs and we received great customer service. It is recommended to visit this restaurant and if you have the pleasure to be served by Ymke you will have an enjoyable time.
Chicken sandwich was amazing 10/10 recommend
This pains me to write this review as my husband and I used to love going here on date nights but after the past 3 times, I have to share how things have seemed to change and not in a good way. We have noticed that service has gone down. This past Wednesday we had a reservation. We were 10 minutes late but when we arrived, we could see our table was ready and had a reserved sign on it (in the bar) but we didn't get seated for 15 more minutes. In fact, the hostess even talked to a former coworker who was making reservations for a few days later and chatting before she sat us. She could have told this friend, give me one second while I sit this couple. When we did finally sit, we sat for over 5 minutes with not a single person acknowledging us. We ended up leaving and had a lovely meal next door at Rare where we were promptly served. For an upscale restaurant like Sonny Lubick's we (and others) expect more and it no longer seems to be there. On a side note- it looks like my two favorite dishes are no longer on the menu....the beef carpaccio and mussels. Boo.
Waited over an hour in the cold for a Thanksgiving family dinner. It would have been okay but it was only enough food for one person and the turkey was nothing but dark scraps that were too tough to eat. All I could do was laugh. Felt bad for my family though, but at least they were warm inside. I’m making my own turkey next year!
Wonderful service excellent food and drinks
